The 2023 AIPM National Conference, held from October 29th to 31st, 2023, was a transformative experience for the PMLogic team. We had the privilege of engaging with an array of thought-provoking speakers, learning from experts, and expanding our professional network. Here's a glimpse of the invaluable insights and experiences we gained:
Day 1: A Glimpse into the Future of Project Management
Our very own CEO, James Bawtree, kicked off the conference by imparting his wisdom on "Research and a demonstration of how project management education is being impacted by artificial intelligence." In this enlightening session, he shed light on the intersection of AI and project management education, emphasising the importance of staying on the cutting edge of industry advancements.
Navigating the Conference Grounds
Our presence at the conference was marked by our PeopleCert | PMLogic booth, a bustling centre of knowledge and innovation. Here, attendees explored the groundbreaking PRINCE2 7 methodology, which places human values at the core of data analytics. At PMLogic, we're dedicated to a people-centric approach to project management, emphasising purpose, people, and planet.
While visiting our booth, attendees were treated to a showcase of our sustainable merchandise. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our methodology, reflecting in our offerings. We showcased eco-friendly products, including sugar cane and natural cork drink bottles, leather-bound notebooks made from fruit, and natural, renewable, and biodegradable unbleached cotton items. This display underscored our dedication to sustainable project management.
Key Takeaways from Visionary Speakers
Throughout the conference, our team absorbed wisdom from a diverse array of speakers. Among the standout moments was Greg Usher's presentation on "Anti-Fragile Projects." Greg introduced the captivating concept of projects gaining value when confronted with challenges, a concept that left a lasting impression. It's a mindset that mirrors our belief in turning adversity into an opportunity for growth.
Sunday brought enlightening insights from Mr. Lachlan Waite, emphasising the importance of meaningful work, fellowship, and shared ambitions in leadership. These principles align seamlessly with our core values at PMLogic, focusing on purpose, people, and planet.
Ms. Carolyn Miller's session on creativity opened our minds to the advantages of diversity. We realised that embracing different perspectives fuels creativity and innovation, and we're excited to implement this in our work culture
On the final day, Ms. Tamara Mirkovic shed light on the role of AI in project management. We are enthusiastic about leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT using the GUIDE framework for optimal results.
The session by Mr. Ben Morrell and Ms. Sarah Neal provided valuable insights into Agile transitions, emphasising the significance of coaches and group scrum leads. Their role in promoting collaboration and adapting to change struck a chord with us. The concept of "predaptive delivery," combining predictive and adaptive approaches, was a game-changer. This approach provides flexibility, acknowledging the dynamic nature of projects, and it's a concept we're excited to explore further.
Networking and Connecting
Beyond the conference sessions, we cherished the opportunity to connect with our peers and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Dinners and networking events provided the perfect backdrop for forging meaningful connections. The camaraderie extended into the evening as we danced and celebrated with newfound friends. These moments epitomised the incredible community we are part of.
